Stadium Gates Issue #5
Welcome back! I love saying that. :)
Startups typically create pitch decks and then bounce around showing the decks to potential investors seeking input and feedback, and ultimately a check or two to fund the work.
We’re a bit different
Our first step is to share a very close proxy of what an investor would see by creating our first Community Pitch Deck. I’m pitching the community about what we’re building, how we’re going to approach our work, and, of course, the ask at the end of the deck.
I welcome feedback, as always. My contact information is everywhere, so please reach out directly. Also, please share this post widely to anyone who may find this compelling.
Now, the slides are copied and pasted below in order, which is a bit of a quirk of Substack’s platform. If they don’t display within the email, just click through to the full post on Substack, as all slides are viewable there as well.
Opportunities to lend a hand
As you may be able to see, I am the primary creative resource for this work and that is not good news. The creative is a passable hatchet job. Also, to spiff up this deck for proper distribution, we’re going to end up going deeper on organizing the product requirements, technology, and the industry research. While what we’ve accomplished to date is strong, a lot more work is going to follow on once we take the next steps to build out the roadmap with rigor.
Here are some opportunities to contribute to the work:
Creative resource to spiff up the deck with proper design
Product Management to outline the road map
Developer resource to guide technology conversations
Journalist contributor to help with product requirements
Research analyst to dive deep on existing competition and industry landscape
Co-host(s) for podcast series about building for Web3
Invitation(s)
#1. Now that I’m sending this out to the Universe, I’m going to work on scheduling some live presentations of the deck to initiate discussions. I’ll post those updates here, as well as on @stadium_gates Twitter account. Please look out for those updates and share widely to those who may have interest. More to come.
#2. This is a rare invitation to be early on something by participating in the Immutable Type crowdfund. It’ll require some time for momentum, but this thing is going to happen. When we look back, we’ll wonder why someone hadn’t done this previously. It’s as obvious as those little things that cover the openings in the Starbucks cups. Coffee cup hole-plugs are so obvious in hindsight! Immutable Type will be the same—so obvious. There will be NFTs and immutable records of journalists’ publishing, and we’re going to do it. Please support the crowdfund as best you are able. Thank you for hitting a homerun when you do. See the crowdfund here.
Enjoy the deck. Scroll down. Lots of work to do.
